How many games does Anderson need to win in order to go above Newton? Would rather he wasn't in Taylor's quarter for the matchplay.

Benito vd Pas has posted two averages 104.86 Last 64 and 106.72 Last 32.
Seems to be the 'on form' player. I hope he keeps it up tomorrow against Wade.
Seems to be that Benito has really found his feet at the moment.
I think we can expect a lot more from him in the coming years.

I'm sure Richie Burnett will have a keen eye on his progress. lol Of course he won't. I hope someone at the PDC has told him though.ChrisW wrote:Benito vd Pas has posted two averages 104.86 Last 64 and 106.72 Last 32.

Cool, thanks. Would fancy him against Haines/Beaton, so the Pipe match is really important.armchairfan wrote:Two gamesFlairplayer wrote:How many games does Anderson need to win in order to go above Newton? Would rather he wasn't in Taylor's quarter for the matchplay.

I can imagine all 16 players are pretty up for this right now.ChrisW wrote:Sunday June 29

Must look on paper like any one of us could win this.
Re: Gibraltar Darts Trophy Euro Tour 5
When playing like this, I think a neutral supporter would like it more to see Benito there than the Richie of the last few months.

I have been a big fan of Richie but I would love Benito to win this and get to the Matchplay ...I always like young up and coming players to make their mark
Either way we will see Benito in plenty of Matchplays over the coming years

Is Matchplay qualification after this event or ET6?

Re: Gibraltar Darts Trophy Euro Tour 5
It is a poor attendance no denying it, but there are several reasons for it:
1. Gibraltar is a territory made up of just 30,000 people, not enough to fill a modern football stadium like Leicester's for example.
2. 15,000 of these are female, who are not the main demographic for PDC let's be honest.
3. Lots of people living in Gib are Spanish - hardly a darting hotbed either - hence why no events are held there during the year.
4. The World Cup is on.
5. The weather there is fantastic as it usually is - who of the inhabitants is going to swap sunshine for a darting event they probably wouldn't know anything about? When I went there a couple of years ago, I remember talking to a Brit who had lived there for 10yrs - he had no idea what was going on in England. Darts gets a small write-up in the papers ever so occasionally and some internet coverage amongst everything else.
6. Most people visit Gibraltar for the climate and comfortable feel - like a brighter version of England. They don't go there to watch sport.
7. If you held a tennis event there, I doubt it would be full to capacity, same goes for most other mainstream sports let alone darts.
At least there were around 100-150 in there last night and should be this evening to make a small atmosphere for the players.

Would that make much difference to the attendance?
